Position Highlights

The Senior Faculty and Provider Compensation Advisor is a member of the team that develops and administers the Compensation Plans and Programs for Moffitt Medical Group (MMG) Faculty, Moffitt Research Institute (MRI) Faculty and Moffitt Advanced Practice Professionals (APPs).  The Senior Advisor role is differentiated from the Advisor role in the depth of knowledge and skills that the Senior brings to the team. Responsibilities include mentoring/teaching/sharing technical knowledge with more junior Advisors, participating in compensation surveys, conducting job evaluations, base salary market analysis and determination, and quarterly and annual incentive reporting & payout.  This position is proactive in conducting compensation related research and analysis including running models and identifying issues to make recommendations that support the strategic goals of the organization. The Senior Faculty and Provider Compensation Advisor develops and maintains strong partnerships with HR Team leaders as well as leaders in the organization in order to identify and solve Faculty and Provider compensation related issues and provide consulting expertise.  This position may act as a lead on Faculty and Provider compensation-related projects. Key functions of this position include strong customer service skills, analytical thinking, time keeping, scheduling meetings, compiling agendas, and taking minutes.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Understanding of financial concepts used in compensation design and demonstrated analytical skills to understand and apply research and statistics in report writing and decision-making.
  • Skilled at accessing and managing data from various sources such as salary surveys.
  • Able to work with highly confidential data and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Excellent time management skills to manage multiple projects with overlapping time frames and cope with shifting priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, verbal and presentation skills including the ability to tailor communications to the audience, effectively present facts, analysis and conclusions or solutions in a way that demonstrates command of content.
  • Strong ability to manage tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills to include identifying obstacles/opportunities and recommend solutions.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and laws to include, but not limited to, Stark, Fraud and Abuse,
  • Anti-kickback, and IRS.
  • Knowledge of FLSA and ERISA regulations.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the Manager, Faculty & Provider Compensations, collaborates with MMG Managers, MRI Managers, and HR Strategic Workforce team to ensure adherence to MMG Cash Compensation Plan and/or Organizational Compensation Policies through the use of surveys and other data sources to obtain and analyze market pay rates. Prepares reports, tables and recommendations on findings.  Handles administrative steps to formalize plan.
  • Coordinates and administers the faculty incentive programs, to include maintenance of metrics defined under the incentive plan, regular reporting of key components of plan, communication related to the distribution of individual incentive bonuses, and review of fair market value in consideration of regulatory requirements.
  • Communicates with and responds to faculty leaders and faculty members to explain the principles of MMG/MRI/Provider compensation plans.
  • Provides analytical support and data analysis on projects to include modeling metrics related to faculty and provider compensation. Identifies issues and makes recommendations based on findings.
  • Researches situations as they arise related to aspects of compensation to provide resolution in consideration of historical practices, equity concerns, etc.
  • Mentors and shares knowledge with Faculty and Provider Compensation Advisor assigned to support the administrative functions and analysis required by the faculty and providers compensation plans.

 

Credentials and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business with concentration in Human Resources, Finance/Accounting, Statistics, or related field required.

 

  • CCP, CECP, PHR or equivalent required.

 

  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience in compensation, human resources operations, or finance/accounting with at least three years of related analytical experience involving data analysis and compensation/financial modeling.  Solid technical knowledge and experience working with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

 

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, public health or related field
  • CPA
  • Previous experience in healthcare, academic and/or research preferred. Experience in Physician Compensation and/or Research Faculty Compensation a plus.  Experience with WRVU Productivity and Quality Metrics as it relates to Physician Compensation highly sought.
