Job Description
Summary
Full time registered nurse who is interested in establishing or continuing a career in clinical research. Our clinical trials focus on treatments and or vaccines for combatting infectious diseases.
Job Duties
- Performs responsibilities in a manner that promotes quality and safe research participant care and customer service.
- Adheres to the scope of practices as defined by the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
- Recruits, screens, enrolls, and evaluates study participants for research studies.
- Schedules study visits and meetings for research trials.
- Collects study specimens, checks study participants vital signs, and conducts pregnancy tests.
- Collects, manages, and reports study data.
- Administers vaccines to study participants.
- Conducts study visits according to established standards.
- Develops required study documents, as needed.
- Follows study participant’s progress and advises the Principal Investigators.
- Maintains study participant charts including research and medical records.
- Ensures that clinical studies are conducted in accordance with guidelines of the protocol, FDA, and other regulatory agencies.
- Educates study participants in significant aspects of the studies.
- Facilitates ongoing communication with study participants.
- Participates in staff meetings and in-services.
- Serves as a liaison and distributes research study information to the PI, the clinic manager, and others as required.
- Assists in developing clinical trial agreements.
- Maintains clean and safe work environment.
- Stocks and orders supplies.
- Participates in Infection control cleaning measures in clinic.
- Collaborates with clinical research associates for monitoring of study-related material.
- Assists study PI with IRB submissions and ongoing communication with the IRB.
- Participates in Quality Management activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Two years of relevant experience as a licensed Registered Nurse (RN).
- Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

- Self-directed with excellent organizational skills.
- Team player with good interpersonal skills.
