The H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, is seeking applicants to join the faculty of the Drug Discovery Department at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor/Member level whose research programs have a focus on metabolism, chemical biology, synthetic/medicinal chemistry and/or structural biology.  The Moffitt Cancer Center provides outstanding core laboratory facilities and services including protein crystallography, NMR and mass spectrometry, synthetic organic chemistry, proteomics, metabolomics, and genomics, amongst others.  The chemistry laboratories provide a state-of-the-art environment for synthetic and medicinal chemistry research programs. The Moffitt Cancer Center is a highly collaborative environment that has a strong cadre of clinical research programs that provide basic researchers with exceptional opportunities for translating their discoveries into the clinic.

Position Highlights:

• Faculty members in Drug Discovery actively collaborate with faculty at other institutions in the U.S. and throughout the world.
• Applicants should have a strong desire to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams with investigators from different fields, including cancer biology, targeted therapeutics, tumor metabolism, imaging, tumor virology and/or immunology.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Proven track record in the field.
• Develop highly competitive independent research programs.
• Applicant requires experience in metabolism, molecular recognition, bioorganic/synthetic/medicinal chemistry and/or chemical biology.

Credentials and Qualifications:

PhD or MD/PhD degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics or related area, suitable doctoral and postdoctoral training and an outstanding track record of top-tier publications. 

Academic rank beyond Assistant Member will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Moffitt is affiliated with the University of South Florida and a University appointment is encouraged.
