Job Description
The Web Content Specialist is primarily responsible for the maintenance of content on the Ashland University website (www.ashland.edu). Other duties include monitoring web content across the university and assisting academic and administrative departments with updating their pages.

Essential Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain content on the main www.ashland.edu website
Train department personnel to update and maintain their pages
Maintain and create content layout templates
Monitor/analyze web activity using Drupal Statistics and Google Analytics
Review and implement recommendations from tools such as Siteimprove
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a digital media-related field or equivalent experience relevant to the position is required.

Experience/Skills:
Two years (four years preferred) of experience in web content layout and web interface design.
Experience in HTML, CSS, search engine optimization and a working knowledge of web standards and accessibility guidelines is highly preferred.
Experience working with content management systems (particularly Drupal) is a plus.
The capacity to work closely in a collaborative role with other team members and outside departments, colleges and divisions to provide end-to-end project management is a must.
Excellent technical skills as well as interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required.
Demonstrated experience supporting web content development in a higher education setting is preferred.

Physical Demands
Office environment with some lifting and hauling of equipment up to 50 lbs. Some weekend and evening working hours are required as needed. Availability via cell phone during normal working hours and after hours is a requirement of this position. Ability to drive to remote campus locations and attend training as assigned.
