Position Summary
As an IT staff member, this role serves as a lead Financial Analyst and Strategic Business Partner to the COH Accounting and Treasury departments.   Key responsibilities include Business Relationship Management; Advisory, and solution development with focus on Financial/Accounting operations.  This role will act as a liaison between business, IT, and related business functional departments (i.e. Finance, Research, Human Resources).  The individual in this role will lead complex initiatives and perform project leadership to enhance financial system functionality and business operations.
As a trusted advisor to the COH Accounting/Treasury business functions, this position is responsible for formulating an enterprise context impact understanding of business requirements in order to accurately implement effective solutions with measurable process improvement results.    
The Senior Information Systems Analyst will be responsible for executing the above responsibilities in accordance with SDLC and project governance standards.     

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as Business Partner and trusted advisor to COH Accounting/Treasury organizations. Maintain strategic perspective on the operational impact of functional business requirements against existing and planned PeopleSoft Financials deployments and upgrades. 
  • Performs detailed analysis of Financial system requirements to understand business needs.  
  • Assists Business Systems Analysts with the creation of functional specifications for PeopleSoft Financial technical development and enhancement. 
  • Responsible for delivery of approved PeopleSoft System requirements definition to Information Technology Development Team(s), including dependent systems impact analysis and requirements development coordination with affected user and development teams (including Partner Interfaces).
  • Collaborates with Business Systems Analysts and Technical Development teammates to evaluate solution alternatives and influence recommended solution using delivered PeopleSoft functionality balancing the optimal use of configuration and development.
  • Assists in establishing PeopleSoft system testing requirements and conducts system and integration tests to ensure application requirements are successfully met.
  • Provides first level production support to Business Systems Analysts and assists with User Acceptance Tests.
  • Function as project leader during PeopleSoft System implementations, Includes assisting with project plan development as appropriate.
  • As needed, lead the staff work allocation for all Financial business facing analyst resources
  • Ensure appropriate coaching for both operational skills and leadership skills required for continued growth.
  • As needed, provide the necessary feedback and reviews of professional development plans.
  • Provides production issues resolution analysis and support on the PeopleSoft Application Support Team.
  • Coordinates with Business Systems Analysts to provide ad hoc reporting support in response to management and production support requests. 
  • Attends PeopleSoft Project Prioritization Meetings with users to discuss project progress and prioritize future projects in accordance with established PeopleSoft Financial implementation strategy.
  • Maintains PeopleSoft Systems professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to maintain certification/licensure, and/or keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. 
  • Maintains a positive image when dealing with department personnel and other City of Hope employees.
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

  • Bachelor's Degree 
  • Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements
  • Eight years or more experience with PeopleSoft Financials Management systems as systems analyst or programmer/analyst position working with large multi-user systems
  • Structured development techniques in system development.
  • Participation in user interface.  Formulate and track detailed project schedules and estimates.
  • Excellent Communication skills.  Ability to lead teammates and business support staff through complex initiatives.

Preferred education experience and skills:    

  • Computer Information Science or related field
