Job Description

Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Provides care to patients, and in accordance with established Cancer Center guidelines, nursing care standards, and Moffitt Clinic Policy & Procedures. Coordinates and provides and documents direct patient care in accordance with established standards & internal and external regulatory guidelines. Also, provides a variety of occupational health services to Cancer Center team members focusing on regulatory compliance. Assists the Cancer Center in hiring and maintaining team members. Provides initial medical assessment, first aid, and referrals for personal and occupational illnesses.

Experience and skills 

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an Employee or Occupational Health clinic in a hospital or industrial area, Emergency Department or Intensive Care 
  • Workers' Compensation experience including post injury follow-up, claim management
  • Knowledge of immunizations and protocols pertaining to hospital compliances
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with occupational health software system
  • Preferred Experience:
  • Experience in an Employee or Occupational Health clinic in a hospital or industrial area highly preferred
  • Experience using an employee health information system

Responsibility 

  • Performs pre-placement health screens which include occupational and personal Medical history, urine drug testing, vision testing and immunization evaluation.
  • Assists Workers Compensation Representative and Occupational Health Supervisor on the follow-up of worker’s compensation cases
  • Performs post-accident testing .
  • Performs phlebotomy procedures.
  • Manages medical surveillance programs in accordance to OSHA regulatory compliance.
  • Participates in follow-up and assessment post exposures (infectious, chemical, and environmental).
  • Provides educational programs for team members.
  • Assists with administration of Center wide team member vaccination and screening programs such as influenza and TB.
  • Participates in cross-functional areas (Environmental Safety and Health, Infection Control, Human Resources).
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualification:

  • Associate in Nursing is required, bachelor’s in nursing preferred.
  • COHN cortication is preferred
