Job Description

Case Acquisition Analyst III

Job Summary:

  • Responsible for the case acquisition and abstracting activities of the Cancer Registry in compliance with the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (ACOS/COC), the Florida Cancer Data System (FCDS), and H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center goals.
  • Responsible for identifying and reviewing cases, both reportable and non-reportable.
  • Responsible for ensuring that productivity is maintained.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree in Health Sciences or similar required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • CTR Certified Tumor Registrar required
  • High School Diploma/GED and Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) AND 10 years of experience performing cancer registry abstracting, and/or case acquisition analysis, in a CoC approved program. (5 years’ experience performing case acquisition or abstracting at Moffitt Cancer Center Cancer Registry may be substituted for 10 years outside experience). (OR)
  • AA Degree (Health) and Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) AND 6 year of experience performing cancer registry abstracting and/or case acquisition analysis, in a CoC approved program (4 years’ experience performing case acquisition or abstracting at Moffitt Cancer Center Cancer Registry may be substituted for 6 years outside experience).
  • Systems Experience Required: Electronic medical record systems and cancer registry software systems
  • Preferred systems experience: Cerner and CNext
  • Preferred experience in a NCI, CoC, or research hospital-based registry
  • Preferred up-to-date experience with current data collection requirements
