Job Summary

The Assistant Director of the Computing Security Department will partner with the department chair to manage outreach, curricular matters, and operational strategy, allowing the chair to remain deeply engaged in research and scholarship.

Job Responsibilities

The main duties of the Assistant Director include:
- Outreach and Partnerships: establish and oversee outreach programs with local K-12 schools, improve retention of students from underrepresented groups, establish and enable relationships with RIT Global partner programs and study abroad opportunities, facilitate alumni and donor engagement.

- Curriculum: collect and analyze data for curricular assessment activities and make recommendations to assessment lead, serve as an ex-officio non-voting member of the department's undergraduate and graduate curriculum committees, meet with prospective students and families, develop plans to enhance student success.

- Management/Operations: Supervise grant assistant, design course schedules, strategic budgeting, adjunct faculty recruitment and engagement.

- Introduction to Programming (GCIS-123, etc.) Course Coordination: lead strategic course scheduling across several departments/schools, oversee enrollment and waitlists.

Required Qualifications

Experience:
At least 5 years of experience working in higher education.

Skills:
Analyze data and communicate data-driven recommendations
Read and understand complicated policies, and establish and enforce processes
Work closely with a diverse team of faculty, staff, students, and partners
Synthesize feedback from stakeholders to modify processes and policies
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to present to in-person and virtual audiences, communicate diplomatically to diverse audiences.



Preferred Qualifications

Preferred:Experience in a degree-granting academic unit, assessment, and/or K-12 outreach
Understanding of RIT curriculum and assessment processes.
