City of Hope Medical Group Seeks Radiation Oncologist to Join Department of Radiation Oncology

The Department of Radiation Oncology at City of Hope National Medical Center is seeking a general Radiation Oncologist who will contribute their skills in healthcare system leadership to practice at our Arcadia practice site.

This position is a rare opportunity to work in a 450+ member integrated, multidisciplinary Medical Group Practice serving an NCI designated comprehensive cancer center, in highly desirable Southern California, within one of the largest radiation oncology departments in the nation. The Department of Radiation Oncology offers cutting-edge radiation treatment options and is embedded within a deep and scientifically-rich cancer center that has national recognition in many research programs, including DNA repair, cancer genetics, cancer immunology, genomics, radiation toxicity, theranostics, and radionuclides.

Position Highlights:

Join our nationally recognized team of medical, surgical, and radiation oncology specialists as we seek to hire a full-time faculty member:

  • Clinical responsibilities to include outpatient treatment with the opportunity to provide optimal treatment outcomes with compassionate patient-centered care
  • Position is required to build out disease sites/service lines, help create RadOnc as a program of excellence, integrate Duarte-Network relationships, and provide clinical care to aid the development of clinical and translational research within the Department and Institution
  • A  physician interested in expanding our clinical and translational research for the Department (e.g. publications, grants, trials, invited lectures, regional/national recognition)

Qualifications:

  • Academic record consistent with appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor
  • The ideal candidate will have 1 or more years of experience as an academically trained radiation oncologist with excellent clinical skills and evidence of the ability and desire to build a practice and think programmatically
  • Experience with SBRT, SRS, IMRT, and IGRT is required
  • Preferred experience working in an academic medical center or specialty cancer center that delivers both clinical and translational research to patients diagnosed with cancer
  • Be well versed in the state of cancer care and the latest research and innovations
  • The ideal candidate will participate in clinical research and will have demonstrated a commitment to research as shown by submission of publications and presentations on national and international stages
  • Applicants must have an M.D. or D.O., or equivalent, and must be Board certified/eligible
  • The selected candidate for the position must be eligible to obtain or already hold an active California medical license
