We have excellent opportunities for suitably qualified and experienced Data Scientist and Automation Engineers, Senior Analytical Chemists, and Synthetic Biologists to join our newly established Australian Genome Foundry.
Data Scientist and Automation Engineer
As the successful applicant you will report to the Chief Scientific Officer and provide data analysis and laboratory automation leadership and expertise across academic and industry projects. Senior Analytical Chemist
As the successful applicant you will report to the Chief Scientific Officer and provide technical leadership and analytical chemistry expertise with a focus on high-throughput targeted small-molecule quantification and metabolomics. You will contribute to the delivery of the start-up incubation and external services through collaboration and integration with other Australian Genome Foundry staff, clients, and stakeholders.
Synthetic Biologist
As the successful applicant you will report to the Chief Scientific Officer and provide technical leadership and molecular and microbiology expertise across multiple synthetic biology workflows. You will communicate, collaborate and integrate with data scientists, molecular biologists, academics, industry staff, and other team members.
About Us
Located at Macquarie University and within the Faculty of Science and Engineering, the Australian Genome Foundry is a high-throughput strain engineering facility with a highly automated workflow. This means rather than having a researcher building one strain at a time manually, the same researcher could build hundreds or thousands of strains in parallel using robotic platforms. The Australian Genome Foundry is capable of synthesizing complete eukaryotic chromosomes and consists of modular robotic platforms capable of automated construction and analysis of synthetic microbial strains.
What we do
We seek to increase automation and throughput of the Biofoundry, moving it from a bespoke academic facility to a world class genome foundry which would act as a magnet for attracting and developing biotechnology start-up companies to NSW.
We look forward to you joining our team!
