Responsibilities:

• Provides direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Invasive Lab. Assesses, prepares and positions patients for procedures.
• Performs conscious sedation and hemodynamic monitoring as necessary.
• Prepares, implements and documents plan of care.
• Communicates patient's condition to physician before, during and after procedures.
• Assists with and/or facilitates diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures.
• Sets up and provides equipment and supplies before, during and after procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.

Certifications:

• Current licensure as Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Complexity of Work:

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:

• Minimum two years recent critical care nursing experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
