Job Description

Summary

A research technician position is immediately available to participate in research projects related to inflammation in obesity and atherosclerosis using animal models, human samples and tissue culture. Recent or upcoming college undergraduate with bachelor's degree is encouraged to apply.

Job Duties

  • Participates in research projects related to inflammation in obesity and atherosclerosis using animal models, human samples and tissue culture. 
  • Performs research experiments.
  • Works with animals (mice and animal techniques that includes colony maintenance, blood and tissue collection, etc.
  • Documents and organizes experimental data using computers.
  • Performs tissue culture, works on immunohistochemistry; flow cytometry; ELISA and basic cell and molecular biology (RNA, DNA isolation, RT-PCR, etc), with knowledge of the research methods and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Be responsible and comfortable to work with animals (mice).
