The Information Technology Department at Harvard Medical School enables this mission by delivering secure and scalable services.
 

We are expanding our Identity and Access Management team. We are looking for a seasoned Business Systems Analyst experienced in modeling and mapping Identity and Access Management business processes to IT solutions. The position works closely with groups that help drive Harvard Medical School’s mission (Education, Research, Administration, HR, Finance, Campus & Facilities Planning) to facilitate business process modeling sessions. Examples of business processes include onboarding, gaining access to IT systems and data and separation from Harvard Medical School.


The role will perform the following activities:

  • Create functional specs based on requirements gathering
  • Identify authorization and authentication risks, define mitigation plan
  • Collaborate with other teams and business partners regarding Identity and Access Management best practices for both on-premises and cloud-based solutions for staff, faculty, students, and sponsored guests
  • Build and execute SQL queries to analyze data
  • Maintain product backlog pertaining to IAM capabilities and participate in grooming user stories
  • Work at an expert level within a team on most phases of service analysis and consider the business implications of technology applications to the current and future business environment
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into systems requirements and scoping
  • Define systems requirements, conduct gap analysis, and identify feasible alternative solutions that meet defined business objectives
  • Responsible for business transition management to ensure that systems are understood by users
  • Contribute to budget planning
  • Contribute to the development of plans and policies for a unit/school
  • Advise unit/school
  • Abide by and follow the Harvard University IT technical standards, policies and Code of Conduct
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of five years’ post-secondary education or relevant work experience
Working Conditions
  • Work is performed in an office setting
Additional Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience in documenting and analyzing Identity Management requirements Solid understanding of HR processes
  • Solid understanding of Identity Management use cases and solutions Experienced in analyzing user groups, roles, and permissions.
  • Expertise in creating business process diagrams and presentations. Experienced in SQL for data analysis.
  • Experience from Higher Ed institution is highly desirable Experience working in agile software development environment.
  • Oral and written communication skills and the capability to explain technical matters in both non-technical and business terms.
  • Demonstrated team performance skills, service mindset approach, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor
  • Master's degree in Information Systems or MBA highly preferred.
Additional Information
This position will be based in Boston. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you will begin your work remotely. All remote work must be performed in a state in which Harvard is registered to do business (CA*, CT, GA, IL, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, RI, VA, VT, and WA). The fully remote nature of this job is only temporary. Once the University and your supervisor determine that it is appropriate, in-person on- campus work will be required as a condition of continued employment. This department actively supports some remote work (within a state in which Harvard is registered to do business) where business and team needs allow. Individual flexible and remote work options for this role will be discussed during the interview process. *Note: Harvard employees working in California must be exempt.
