Position Summary

The Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope is looking for a talented Postdoctoral Fellow to join the Arthur Riggs Diabetes and Metabolism Research Institute – Department of Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology.

Dr. Lei Jiang’s laboratory focuses on the molecular mechanisms regulating central carbon metabolism in adipocytes and lung cancer cells. The application of mathematical- and bioengineering-based modeling prediction and experimental mass spec-based metabolic tracing will provide a better understanding of metabolic rewiring in obesity and cancer. A determined and self-motivated postdoc is encouraged to join Dr. Jiang’s laboratory, to focus on an ongoing study of the fuel metabolism in thermogenic brown adipocytes.

Key Responsibilities include:

This Postdoctoral Fellow will perform regular cellular biology experiments, maintain and study genetic mouse models, keep experimental records, summarize data, draft manuscripts, and present at internal and external meetings.

Basic education, experience, and skills required for consideration:

• A PhD degree in biochemistry, or molecular and cellular biology
• Good publication record in metabolism or adipose biology
• Experience with mouse handling
• Excellent in written and verbal communication
