The Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute is seeking a successful candidate, M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree, for its Academic Hematopathologist position with a primary focus on bone marrows. The appointment will be at the level of Assistant Member in the Hematopathology and Laboratory Medicine section of the Department of Pathology. We are closely affiliated with large and expanding programs in Hematologic Malignancies and Stem Cell Transplant, with strong emphasis on myelodysplasia, acute leukemia and lymphoma. The candidate will be a member of a multidisciplinary team of physicians and scientists, with opportunities to join established basic research programs, as well as excellent opportunities for translational research in areas of related interest. We train both Pathology residents and Hematopathology fellows.

The successful applicants should be board certified in Clinical Pathology and Hematopathology, or have board certification eligibility. Experience in an academic multi-disciplinary university clinical setting is preferred.  Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Florida is required.

There is vast opportunity within our framework for information technology, scientific research, clinical treatment and quality of life studies, as we see over 15,000 new cancer patients each year.   Our environment is one of multi-modality, patient-centered care requiring highly collaborative clinical research programs.  Moffitt is committed to education through a wide range of residency and fellowship programs.

The Moffitt Cancer Center is comprised of a large ambulatory care facility, a 206-bed hospital, with a 36-bed blood and marrow transplant program, 20 state of the art operating suites, a 30 bed intensive care unit, a high volume screening program, and a basic science research facility.

Faculty of the Moffitt Cancer Center are eligible for academic appointments at the University of South Florida College of Medicine.  Academic rank is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
