Position Summary

This project manager role will support City of Hope’s strategic initiatives by managing and coordinating projects of various sizes and scales under the direction of the Orange County PMO Director. In addition, this project manager will serve as the master project scheduler who will oversee the master integrated program plan. In this role, the master project scheduler will be collaborating with project managers, setting tasks, and monitoring the execution of project timelines. This is also to include prepare project progress and performance evaluation reports.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Consulting with project managers and technical experts to set up assignments, tasks, and subtasks
• Developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective scheduling management system
• Coordinating project timelines with internal departments and external stakeholders
• Monitoring project timelines and deadlines
• Identifying potential project schedule delays and facilitating intervention in a timeous manner
• Evaluating performance and preparing project progress reports
• Accommodating updates and changes to project schedules
• Recommending actions to keep projects within budget and completed on time
• Keeping stakeholders informed of project timelines and deadlines
• Documenting project scheduling processes and maintaining records
• Manage and report on schedule risks and issues
• Leverage standardized project management toolkits
• Coordinate and facilitate meetings
• Develop presentations and deliverables to support project priorities and facilitate project decisions
• Ensure aligned communication across project teams, with internal customers, and management

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for all phases of project management including coordination, project plan development, schedule management, risk and issue management, communications and change management for assigned projects. Has experience managing 1-2 project workstreams and 5+ project resources.
• Produces analysis and presentations to support project priorities and facilitate project decisions
• Adapts enterprise and external best practice tools to meet the needs of assigned projects and project leads
• Coordinates resources to achieve cost, budget and quality expectations for projects.
• Manages relationships with internal and external customers.
• Exercises critical thinking and evaluates options for solving problems and achieving project goals.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

• Minimum Education: Bachelor’s in Business Administration or related discipline
• Minimum Experience: 2+ years of recent related industry experience

Preferred education experience and skills:

• PMP certified
• Healthcare project management experience
