Summary

The Research Technician position is open to work on a project exploring how the microbiome affects behavior and brain development.  The Technician will assist in performing behavior experiments and in analysis of different aspects of brain development.  The technician will perform duties that includes maintenance of experimental animals, behavioral experiments and immunohistochemical analysis. Previous experience in handling mice is desirable.

Job Duties

  • Assists with different learning and memory-related behavioral testing.
  • Collects, analyzes, and documents experimental results.
  • Performs brain extraction, sectioning, and immunohistochemical analysis to investigate different aspects of brain development.
  • Assists in performing behavior experiments and in analyzing different aspects of brain development. 
  • Maintains experimental animals, behavioral experiments and immunohistochemical analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Two years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Basic science or related field. 
  • Previous experience with mice and/or immunohistochemistry is desirable.
