As a Cardiovascular Technician at the top-ranked cardiology hospital system in the country, you will work with our team to perform non-invasive diagnostic exams such as: 12-lead Electrocardiograms, Holter Monitor Hook-ups, Event Monitor Hook-ups, cardiac Stress Tests, and EEG testing. Your other duties will include but are not limited to:

-Processing test results and notifying the physician of any abnormal results.
-Maintaining equipment and notifying Clinical Engineering of any ongoing issues.
-Maintaining supplies needed for testing.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs carotid duplex, venous duplex, arterial duplex, aortoiliac duplex, penile duplex and renal duplex.
  • Dictation of preliminary reports for physician.
  • Consults with vascular medicine physician for interpretation of test results. Maintains records of testing for documentation.
  • Provide daily account of patient's charge requisition with appropriate ICD9 codes.
  • Provide training and acts as a resource for vascular ultrasound students, residents and physicians.
  • Provide testing for add-on emergency patients. Maintains continuing medical education requirements for the appropriate professional organization.
  • Maintain records and documents for accreditation of vascular lab.
  • Maintains complete and up-to-date documentation and files, including product and service quotes.
  • Performs any Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Graduation from two year cardiovascular technologist program.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, physicians and other health care workers.
  • Ability to empathize with patients and families.
  • Ability to use good judgment in stressful emergency situations.
  • Adequate mathematics skills to maintain accurate record and report.

Certifications:

  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA)

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of one-year clinical experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Essential Duties: Interact with patients, families, physicians and other health care workers.
  • Good hand coordination for positioning of prove and equipment.
  • Good vision to analyze computer screens and VCR recordings to diagnose test results.
  • Physical Duties: Moderate lifting and positioning of patients.
  • Moderate pushing and pulling of equipment.
  • Working Conditions: 100% air-conditioned.
  • Moderate risk of exposure to blood or air-borne pathogens.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
