Job Description

Position Summary:

The Grants Administrator II addresses pre-award administration including preparation of sponsored proposal applications in adherence with sponsoring agency and Moffitt Cancer Center requirements. Works closely with the Principal Investigators (PI's) as well as with administrators to reinforce institutional policies and maintain compliance with federal, state and sponsor policies, procedures and guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret sponsor guidelines, initiate development of biosketch personal statement and execute pre-award grant preparation of grant submissions.
  • Formulate grant budgets with PI.
  • Inspect drafts of all application components to ensure compliance with sponsor guidelines.
  • Operate proficiently in individual sponsor portals and provides assistance to principal investigators as needed.
  • Engage with faculty, subcontractors, and collaborators to prepare proposals (new, renewals, supplements) and review awards.
  • Collect and assemble Just in time (JIT) materials as requested by NIH and other funding sources.
  • Coordinates post-submission inquiries concerning status of proposals and award processing in sponsored offices.
  • Execute progress reports as required by sponsor (quarterly, annual etc.).
  • Assist PI to prepare detailed budgets justifications.
  •  Gathers administrative documents from all personnel included on the proposal and prepares detailed budgets and justifications.
  • Performs literature searches and helps to maintain an accurate PI bibliography.

Credentials and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required with two (2) years grant/research administration/project submission experience required.
    • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, an associate's degree with four (4) years grant/research administration/project submission or high school diploma with six (6) years grant/research administration/project submission may be considered.
  • Preferred experience with ASSIST, Grants.gov, Proposal Central.
