Position Highlights:

• The Lead Ultrasound sonographer shall oversee all technical aspects of the department and perform procedures on selected anatomy as requested by the clinician based on age appropriateness. The Lead Technologist is expected to perform a variety of procedures with the knowledge and ability to apply to proper scan protocols need to visualize the anatomy in question following Ultrasound best practices. Acts as a Lead Songrapher to the rest of the songraphers in the department and have the ability to troubleshoot as well as possess critical decision making abilities skills.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Will have a Bachelor’s degree.
• Will have a working knowledge of anatomy and an understanding of pathology, which affect the quality of the ultrasound procedure. 
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

 Responsibilities:

• Perform exams in all aspects of Ultrasound.
• Oversee all ultrasound equipment safety and follows proper procedure concerning any equipment.
• Performs thorough inventory and supply checks and collaborates with physicians and supervisor. 
• Work with ultrasound techs on staffing and scheduling to provide ample staffing for daily workload and function.

Credentials and Qualifications: 

• Graduate of a Committee of Allied Health Education and AMA accredited Ultrasound program or the equivalent is required.
• 3 years of experience as a Sonographer in a progressive role preferably in a hospital setting required.
• American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) is required.
• Interpersonal skills to provide effective leadership to staff and maintain a collaborative working relationship in a team focused model required.
• Thorough understanding of healthcare environment and/or customer service needs required.
• Personal computer experience required.
• Current BLS required.
