Job Description Summary:
The Faculty Research Track emphasizes the conduct of research in all relevant areas including basic sciences, clinical investigations, health policy, health care outcomes, or history and philosophy of medicine. Collaborate with SOM faculty in research projects requiring mass spectrometry analysis. Develop new methods in high-performance mass spectrometry analysis.
Job Description:
Required Qualifications:
Education: Ph.D. in one of the biological, (bio)chemical, or engineering sciences
Work Experience: Three or more Years of Research Experience
Skills: High Resolution Mass Spectrometry, Proteomics, Glycobiology
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Ph.D. in one of the biological, (bio)chemical, or engineering sciences
Work Experience: Three or more Years of Research Experience
Skills: Expertise in performing state-of-the-art mass spectrometry analyses
Skills: Understanding of signaling pathways in cancer
Demonstrates competence in areas of critical thinking, interpersonal relationship, and technical skills.
Experience in managing collaborative research projects.
Outstanding written and communication skills in English.
Job Duties Outlined:
Develop novel mass spectrometry analyses and collaborate with SOM faculty in cancer-related research.
Assist in the writing of grant proposals.
Develop own research program including writing grant proposals and publication of research.
Assists in the training of students, postdoctoral fellows and research assistants.
Perform routine lab maintenance and ordering of supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned by faculty mentor, including outreach to prospective minority students.
