Responsibilities:
•Participates in the delivery of integrative health care to individual patients and groups, using acupuncture and related techniques.
•Works closely with participants to adjust course of instruction to best benefit each individual and refers clients to physician/medical professionals for medical issues that may arise during sessions.
•Participates in educational activities.
•Participates in research programs.
•Participates in quality monitoring programs.
•Serves as a clinical preceptor for other health care professionals obtaining practice in the specialty area.
•Other duties as assigned.
Education:
•Masters or Masters Level Degree in Acupuncture from an accredited three year full time clinical acupuncture program or from a candidate-for-accreditation clinical acupuncture program.
Certifications:
•Board certified through the National Certification Commission on Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and certification through the State Medical Board of Ohio.
Complexity of Work:
•Within scope of job, requires excellent communication, interpersonal, accountability and organizational skills.
•Must be able to work with minimal supervision, in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Work Experience:
•Minimum one year experience performing acupuncture.
• 5 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to stand, bend and stretch for extended periods of time.
•Manual dexterity to use instruments and perform examinations related to the practice.
•Must be flexible and able to travel to various practice sites
