Job DescriptionASU Knowledge Enterprise is seeking a motivated, sales savvy Technical Services and Sales Liaison to cultivate and develop relationships between companies and the Knowledge Enterprise's Core Research Facilities. As the Technical Services and Sales Liaison, you will actively market the Core Facilities programs and services to businesses, as well as individual enterprises, to expose opportunities.
This is an incentivized position with the opportunity for you to earn more for meeting or exceeding sales goals. The total target compensation for this position (Base annual salary + Meeting Sales Goal Incentive) starts at $95,000 annually. Collaborating closely with Corporate Engagement, Marketing, Sales Coordinator and other teams to develop, implement, and coordinate prospecting and sales strategies to develop new business to support the ASU’s Core Research Facilities.
Understanding and promoting the capabilities, services, and training capacities of ASU’s Core Research Facilities and their applications to industry needs.
Developing a rapport and credibility with stakeholder faculty, core facility management, and technical staff to engage them in business development efforts.
Developing relationships with industrial and relevant non-profit and university partners to understand their research and business objectives and facilitates partnership opportunities with ASU Core Research Facilities.
Developing, implementing, and coordinating efforts to host special events, client presentation meetings, and site visits.
Facilitating new business development, participating in relevant technical associations and technology networking events and serving as a liaison to ASU.
Initiating formal partnership and service agreements between clients and ASU Core Research Facilities.
Establishing and developing a resource network in the ASU and regional communities, to identify and cultivate industrial partners of ASU.
Partnering with Corporate Engagement to ensure that the needs of clients and other businesses are matched with the resources of ASU's research, and faculty resources.
Developing and managing appropriate sales and marketing budgets.
May supervise activities of subordinates, assign work, and evaluate performance.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field AND six (6) years successful experience in a related capacity within an appropriate industry; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
Demonstrated previous sales experience in a research-intensive entrepreneurial and/or industrial environment a must
Experience in understanding and conveying applications of analytical instruments and electronic device fabrication tools
Demonstrated knowledge of building relationships with a business, including strategic alliances, business development, sales, and relationship management.
Demonstrated knowledge of customer service, public administration, and public relations techniques and principles.
Demonstrated knowledge of the academic research environment.
Experience in facilitating industry, university, and government research partnerships.
Experience in maintaining reasonable close and win rates
Evidence of effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Experience in qualification questioning, active listening, and solution identification
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions. Drives University vehicle and/or cart to campus site.
