Job Description

Job Purpose

This position will coordinate the day to day activities of Dr. Calarge research study. This position will screen, enroll, and monitor research participants. Will ensure accurate data collection, documentation, organization, and safety of research participants.

Job Duties
  • Interviews, screen and recruits patients for study; explains process and procedures to educate participants and families regarding the research study.
  • Screening potential participants medical records for research study eligibility.
  • Collects patient information; processes documents and enters information into a database.
  • Addressing missing data or data inconsistencies.
  • Enters, and processes information in EPIC, Outlook, Emmes, Excel, BRAIN, and Clincard website.
  • May collect, process, ship, and maintain paperwork for blood and/or biological specimens according to procedures outlined in study protocol.
  • Position may be required to receive on the job training of phlebotomy and EKGs/ECGs prior to performing on study participants.
  • Assist with blood draws, vital signs, and questionnaires according to research procedures.
  • Maintains records and regulatory documents and records for research studies.
  • Schedules research participant for tests and procedures such as laboratory tests, x-rays, and other studies specific for the research protocol.
  • Retrieves and submits test results to appropriate party.
  • Corresponds with patient and families throughout study, and maintains monthly contact.
  • Attends weekly lab meetings providing study progress updates to PI. Ensures serious adverse events are addressed by PI in a timely manner.
  • Confirms with patient and families regarding appointment visits, and COVID screenings.
  • Orders supplies and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three years of relevant experience.
