Provide systems expertise, direction and guidance as part of the Enterprise Project Support Office (EPSO). The EPSO will work with university-wide project stakeholders to develop project business cases and supporting budgets for review and approval of the vice presidential liaisons. The EPSO will perform advisory functions that include project evaluation and prioritization, initiative identification, project request analysis, project and purchase recommendations, tracking implementation, system administration, budgets and benefits measurement. This position spends equal portions of time on both functional and technical duties.

Ball State University Information Technology is seeking a Project Manager and Enterprise Systems Coordinator.  The successful applicant will research, setup and configure enterprise solutions based on end user requirements as a system administrator.  In this role you will perform advisory functions that include project evaluation and prioritization, initiative identification, project request analysis, project and purchase recommendations, tracking implementation and budgets. Job Function:

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Preferred Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technology or business related program.

Minimum Experience:

At least two years of professional IT experience including project management experience, experience as system coordinator/ administrator for an enterprise solution; demonstrated experience working with third-party vendors to determine product and services technical compatibilities. At least two years of customer service and training experience. Ability to learn and create specifications for SQL scripts in an ERP environment.

Preferred Experience:

Five years of experience working in an IT environment at a higher educational institution providing hardware/software solutions at a managerial or leadership level. Five years of project management and Ellucian Banner ERP experience and knowledge.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical and process feasibility review of incoming requests. Work with other IT staff as needed to examine projected impact on existing technologies composing the institution’s application and service portfolio; deliver recommendations to designated representatives showing anticipated risk/reward, technical integration analysis, support requirements, duplication and overlap analysis, and anticipated budget.
  • Serve as university system owner and coordinator/ administrator for systems designated by IT leadership.
  • Participate as a member of project teams for system purchases and implementation to provide system admin role, project management, end user training, technical analysis and guidance regarding integration of purchased systems with the existing enterprise environment.
  • Research, setup and configure enterprise solutions based on end user requirements as a system admin. Support end users and functional areas on enterprise solutions.
  • Analyze and evaluate requests for project assistance or ERP-related third-party system purchases, employing the IT Guiding Principles as foundational principles of the analysis and review process.
  • Develop and implement processes to track and report progress, budget, and timeline adherence for requests approved by the vice presidential liaisons. Subsequent to request completion or implementation, analyze and report return on investment and final disposition of each request.
  • Perform efficiency analysis of existing business processes in various functional areas. Collaborate with functional areas to identify and replace inefficient business processes with more effective and automated processes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
