Program Support Supervisor – Pathology  

Job Summary:

This position assists the Division and Department Administrators with the day-to-day operations for Pathology Services, ensuring effective support for a large dynamic academic program of Anatomic Pathology, which is comprised of Pathologists, Executive & Management Assistants, Fellowship Program, Fellows, and a Pathology Residency Program. This is accomplished by performing or assisting in a vast array of administrative and operational day-to-day tasks and responsibilities. This position directly supervises the day-to-day activities of the administrative support staff to ensure efficient, effective, and timely workflows and process; and to ensure Pathologists’ administrative needs are adequately met. In addition, this position assists the Medical Directors of the Fellowship Program with related administrative and operational functions, such as in-processing and out-processing of new fellows.

    • Demonstrates a high degree of technical competence, intrapersonal skill, and independent critical thinking, attention-to-detail and decision-making.
    • Clinical administrative professional with the ability to appropriately coordinate, supervise day-to-day operations, and handle sensitive and confidential information

Credentials and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Business, Finance or other relevant field required; Master's Degree preferred
    • Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience in an office, academic, or healthcare setting, with one (1) year proven supervisory experience
    • Requires knowledge of office processes, workflows, and advanced MS Office applications i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook.  
    • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills, ability to work with a wide variety of people from management assistants to pathologists, and the ability to work well under stress of deadlines and demands in a fast-paced environment.
    • Must be an independent team member that is engaged, proactive, and highly motivated.
