Job Description

The position required hands-on laboratory work to synthesize new organic and polymeric materials for water purification. The candidate will also characterize and conduct testing on new materials.

The Applied Materials Division is seeking a Postdoctoral Candidate in the area of synthetic organic chemistry/polymer chemistry with a focus on materials for water purification. This position will primarily involve work on materials synthesis in a laboratory environment. Characterization and use-testing of new materials will also be required. Previous experience with materials for water purification is highly recommended.

The candidate will design or modify laboratory procedures and protocols, develop experimental designs, run technical experiments, make detailed observations, gather and analyze data, and effectively report results.

Position Requirements:

A degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Chemistry or related field with 0 to 2 years of experience.

Knowledge and hands-on experience in the following areas: organic chemistry and synthesis or polymer chemistry, materials for water purification, materials characterization.

Ability to communicate effectively and on a timely basis with the laboratory supervisory personnel on all developments or matters resulting from laboratory work activities.

Ability to maintain organized notebooks and project files.

Proven ability to be an excellent team player.

A high commitment to safety.
