If so, you are the Administrative Support team member that we seek. As an Administrative Support professional within the Weapons Design & Assurance Center in the Advanced Mechanical Design group, you will support and/or lead key initiatives for hiring students and early career talent into our organization. Your primary role would be as the internship program coordinator for the IDEAS (Interdisciplinary Design, Engineering, and Assurance Students) intern institute (https://www.sandia.gov/careers/career-possibilities/students-and-postdocs/internships-co-ops/institute-programs/interdisciplinary-design-engineering-and-assurance-students/). This role requires a self-motivated, proactive approach and the ability to work closely with management, technical staff, and partners across Sandia to recruit, phone screen, interview, and onboard both undergraduate and graduate interns. The role would also include organizing intern events, tracking institute success metrics, influencing the program’s strategy, and presenting about the program to leadership. In addition to the IDEAS program, if selected you would also support other hiring initiatives in the Advanced Mechanical Design Group, and be involved in ad hoc needs related to talent pipeline and/or improving the organization for our employees. On any given day, you may be called on to: + Lead the business rhythm of the IDEAS internship institute, managing hiring process communications, scheduling and conducting phone screens and interviews, and coordinating with intern mentors and managers. + Coordinate logistics for on-site interviews, as well as intern onboarding, tours, networking events, and the intern symposium, often in partnership with other admins. + Play a key role in ensuring the IDEAS program is connected to other Sandia intern institutes, Sandia recruiting teams, and Sandia outreach activities. + Meet regularly with key Sandia partners and the IDEAS institute manager to plan and align activities. + Maintain and monitor program metrics, summarize and document both lessons learned and best practices to continue to improve our IDEAS program.' + Understand subtleties in relationships and priorities in order to anticipate needs and respond proactively both internally and externally.
+ Requires high school diploma plus three or more years of directly related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE-Q security clearance.
+ Bachelors degree in business, organizational development, human resources, or related field. + Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize a variety of tasks and work independently with minimal supervision. + Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. + Demonstrated experience in taking initiative, ownership of job responsibilities, and making appropriate decisions to complete tasks. + Excellent knowledge of and proficiency in Microsoft suite of products. + Experience in managing SharePoint, WordPress, and/or Confluence. + Familiarity with Nuclear Deterrence and/or similar engineering organizations. + Active DOE Q-level security clearance.
