We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher for the Nanoscience & Technology Division in the Physical Science and Engineering Directorate.
Performs research on the development of autonomous material discovery capabilities, including: automated chemistry labs, and incorporating artificial intelligence (AL)/machine learning (ML) guidance into automated experimental workflows.
Multidisciplinary research team that carries out research on developing AL/ML-guided automated chemistry platform for autonomous material discovery. Experience from a range of areas, including but not limited to automation, robotics, data infrastructure, autonomous material discovery, and AI/ML.
Access to state-of-the-art research facilities and gain in-depth knowledge of the research frontiers in the fields of autonomous material discovery. Opportunity to be a part of a world-class scientific team and involved in vigorous research programs.
This appointment will be fully onsite.
Candidates should have completed a doctorate level degree (within the past three years) in material science, chemical engineering, chemistry, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related discipline. Experience in automation, complex data workflows, and AI/ML-guided experimentation.
Excellent in Python programming skills
Experience in material science/chemistry/chemical engineering
Experience in both oral and written communication skills and the ability to work with internal and external contacts and achieve established goals
Performs both independent and collaborative research
Ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment
