Job Description


The laboratory works on the identification of new drug targets for the treatment of autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis. The lab is seeking a research technician to work with cell lines and samples from patients to identify components of a potassium channel involved in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis. This technician position is ideal for a new graduate wanting to acquire research experience or for a more experienced person wanting to expand their technical skills.

Job Duties

  • Plans and conducts laboratory research experiments that includes the in vitro culture of cell lines and cells from patients.
  • Conducts electrophysiology assays using a semi-automated system.
  • Performs immunostaining and data acquisition by flow cytometry.
  • Data management and analysis.
  • Assists with laboratory inventory, ordering supplies, and regulatory compliance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Two years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.
