Job DescriptionThe Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences (PENS) at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) invites applications for a full time Assistant Professional Professor faculty position in Chemistry. This is a full-time, non-tenure track 9-month academic professional faculty position to begin fall 2023. The successful candidate will have expertise in chemical education or significant experience and/or a demonstrated strong interest in improving lower-level chemistry undergraduate curriculum (primarily General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry).
The candidate is expected to be able to teach courses at the undergraduate level and depending on their area of expertise possibly at the graduate (Master’s) level. The Chemistry Program is part of the Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences (PENS). It offers both undergraduate and graduate (MS) degrees in chemistry. PENS is also home to programs in Atmospheric Science (BS), Coastal and Marine System Science (MS, PhD), Environmental Science (BS, MS), Geology (BS), and Physics (BS).
Required Qualifications:
A PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching undergraduate chemistry courses
Experience in curriculum design and management of undergraduate laboratory courses.
Experience in training and management of teaching assistants
