Job Description

The IT Learning Spaces – Programmer Analyst position (w/ emphasis on audio/video, AV) fills a critical role in carrying out the mission of the Learning Spaces team by creating and supporting the best learning, teaching, and collaboration environments using world-class information technology services. The position focuses on audio/video design, installation, and support. The position plays an integral support role within the Learning Spaces team regarding the coordination and execution of a wide range of AV-related support needs throughout the University of Oklahoma. This position will also be responsible for providing AV-related consultation and special project services to customers in a professional and timely manner. This role will be pivotal in ensuring AV and AV-related technologies meet the needs of various University constituents.

Duties:

Responsible for writing, developing, and updating various programs, software, and systems (software/hardware) to meet the needs of University constituents. Provides technical support and training. Conducts evaluation, design, testing, and maintenance for various programs and systems. Assist with implementation of systems University-wide.

Evaluates costs, analyzes user needs, and conducts feasibility studies.
Designs new systems or modifies existing systems to meet user needs.
Performs various duties related to reporting and data retrieval.
Establishes and updates documentation supporting various systems.
Performs testing to ensure systems meet stakeholder needs and identified criteria.
Conducts training and assists with developing training programs and documentation.
Provides technical support to end-users.
Assists with implementation of systems.
Assists with related administrative tasks such as inventory, billing, and record keeping.
Ensures safe work guidelines and best practices are followed.
Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Job Requirements---

Education: Bachelor's degree.



Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree



Department Preferences:

12+ months experience in Information Technology or a related field.
12+ months experience in Higher Education or related field.
12+ months experience providing end user support/troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance AV technologies.
12+ months experience providing AV consultations, quoting, and project management.
Familiarity with Crestron products and programming.
Ability to travel, support, and provide training across our Norman and Tulsa campuses, in addition to the primary campus (HSC).
Certifications or Licenses:

Valid driver's license to drive OU vehicles.
Skills:

Ability to speak, read and write clear, concise English.
Strong written and oral communication.
Excellent time management and organization skills.
Experience in scheduling and conducting meetings.
Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
Detail oriented.
Basic knowledge of enterprise technologies such as networks, storage, identity management, cloud services, security, Windows OS, Mac OS, desktop solutions, Microsoft Office suite, etc.
Familiarity with emerging technologies.
Contributes to continual improvement.
Excellent analytic skills.
General understanding of programming concepts and design.
