The Department of Information Systems at the University of Nevada, Reno, invites applications for a Non-tenure Track Full-time Lecturer. The appointment will begin in Jan 2023.

The Department of Information Systems is part of the College of Business. The department offers a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, a Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) and an on-line Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA). All programs are accredited by the AACSB. Several current faculty members are affiliated with the University’s Cybersecurity Center which is recognized by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security as a Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD).

We are seeking an Information Systems professional with solid technical work experience and a demonstrated record as a dynamic and passionate teacher. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate classes, participation in service activities, and currency in information systems topics. Candidates should be able to teach courses in two or more of the following subject areas: Process Modeling, Enterprise Resource Planning, Web Application Development, Project Management, Mobile Application Development, and Data Communications and Networking. Applicants must be capable of teaching courses that include hands-on skills. Opportunities to teach additional courses on-line and in the summer are also available. Most graduate level courses are offered after 5:00 pm to accommodate working students. Consequently, candidates for this position must be willing to teach evening courses as necessary.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in information systems or closely related discipline from an AACSB/ABET accredited university.

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent teaching evaluations in Information Systems courses similar to the University offerings. Evidence of Industry experience in Information Systems for minimum of 3 years.
