Job Description
Job SummaryUniversity Connected Learning (UCL) is seeking a Computer Technician to set up and configure desktop workstations that support the department, UCL classroom technology and the department computer labs. The successful candidate will develop and maintain all systems, applications, security, and computer configurations; troubleshoot performance issues; recommend upgrades, patches, annual inventory of all assets, new applications and equipment; and provide technical support and guidance to users.
Responsibilities
Provides desktop and peripheral hardware support and maintenance for the department
Supports departmental network infrastructure from the wall plate to IP configuration
Researches, develops and deploys departmental computing and storage solutions
Assists in research, development and deployment of campus-wide, server-based audiovisual solutions

Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree in a computer related field and two years of experience or equivalency recommended. Demonstrated computer skills, human relations and effective communication skills are required.
Preferences
Bachelor’s degree or equivalency and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area
Deploying network-based, enterprise A/V solutions (Crestron, Extron, etc.)
Microsoft Active Directory
Working with multiple operating systems (Mac, Windows, etc.)
Supporting a computer lab
Experience in network management for videoconferencing systems is a plus
Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within areas of specialty
