Job Description

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Research Assistant will perform biomedical laboratory work under the supervision of PI. This position will be responsible for the maintenance of animal colonies, genotyping, and vision/brain function tests.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists in maintaining cell lines for experiments focused on molecular biology, data analysis and reporting.
Maintains animal colony, genotyping and vision/brain function tests.
Maintains cell lines for experiments including but not limited to PCR, western blot, flow cytometry.
Conducts data analysis using equipment defined software and reporting using excel and Microsoft word
Performs other related duties as assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:



EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in one of the sciences OR a combination of education and work experience to equal (8) years. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)



Must be able to work with small rodents/animals. (Work experience in biological/medical sciences preferred).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to work with laboratory animals.


WORK SCHEDULE: This position may be required to occasionally work evenings and weekends.
