JOB SUMMARY:
The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS) has built a world-class reputation for compassionate patient care, cutting-edge research, and hands-on training programs for resident physicians and clinical fellows. We are seeking candidates for a Neuro-Ophthalmology position that will involve patient care, teaching, and research. Clinical activities will include patient care at local UW Health clinic locations. Teaching activities will involve medical students, residents, and fellows. Research activities may include participation in clinical trials and/or translational research.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- At least a 40% FTE neuro-ophthalmology practice within the UW Department of Ophthalmology at one or more of its ophthalmology care sites.
- If not a full-time position in neuro-ophthalmology of 80% FTE, then an additional 40% FTE in any other ophthalmologic practice (with appropriate certified residency and fellowship training) in: (comprehensive ophthalmology, glaucoma, oculoplastic surgery, ophthalmic pathology, pediatric ophthalmology/adult strabismus, as examples); neurology practice if a certified neurologist; research if clinician-scientist; or neuro-ophthalmology/neurology practice in another non-UW ophthalmology/neurology practice.
- 20% FTE for administration, teaching, etc.

The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Terminal Degree
MD

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Wisconsin medical license.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology and/or Neurology.
- Residency training in Ophthalmology or Neurology followed by a Neuro-ophthalmology fellowship.
- Relevant experience in clinical practice.
- Interest in medical student and resident education.

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
