Job Description
Summary
The Research Assistant will work under the supervision of Dr. Yong Li to study genetic and environmental etiological factors in cancer. He/she will be performing lab maintenance, basic cell culture work, and will be maintaining the mouse colony and performing mouse xenografts.
Job Duties
- Plans, directs, and conducts cancer research experiments using cell culture and mouse models.
- Performs trouble shooting and problem solving and analyzes, organizes, communicates, and presents data effectively and accurately.
- Develops research techniques and performs applications required for the specific tasks.
- Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in appropriate format.
- Effectively documents results of experiments for reporting to supervisors and other members of the laboratory.
- Proficiently summarizes results and potential problems and writes manuscripts for publications.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
- Two years of relevant experience.
