Job Description
Position Highlights:
- The Procurement Analyst II builds/maintains ongoing relationships between the Center, internal customers and vendors; ensuring that these relationships are maintained with the Center’s best interest in mind.
- This position will be requesting quotes and making recommendations of vendor selection to their customer base. This position will also lead the negotiations/arrangements for the purchase of goods and services the Center requires.
- This role will play a pivotal role in researching the market appropriately to ensure that the company is getting the best possible value.
- This position has authority to make decisions relative to maintaining inventory levels, ensuring the Center is able to operate appropriately. This position requires a large amount of interaction with internal/external customers.
- Will identify and recommend contract compliance, savings, and other opportunities that may be beneficial to the organization for all agreement types. This position will have the authority to bind the Center on significant purchases/significant financial impact up to $250,000. They may also participate in the annual GPO conferences as management deems necessary.
The Ideal Candidate:
- The ideal candidate will have supply chain/procurement experience in purchasing administration within a healthcare facility.
- The ideal candidate will have ERP systems exp, preferably Infor/Lawson ERP system, GHX and ImageNow.
Responsibilities:
- This position will address any internal/external customer concerns/inquiries. Will work directly with the Contract Sourcing Administrator providing data/information for trending analysis, to help improve customer relations.
- Attend Customer Group meetings (possibly schedule and lead meetings when applicable). Help formulate decision-making plans as a result of the meetings
- Formulate Customer Analytics with support from the Supply Chain Analytics Team; assess and implement cost savings measures in coordination with client group departments
- Responsible for which vendors to pursue continuing doing business with; which new vendors should be considered for utilization and provide strategical insight on contract terms during negotiations with vendors
- Manages open orders from the vendor to the customer. Coordinates with vendors, and if needed the Contract Sourcing Administrator, to procure acceptable alternative supplies and deliver in a timely manner. Coordinates with vendors, customer groups, and if needed the Contract Sourcing Administrator or Procurement Analyst, to resolve invoice discrepancies and pricing. Completes all changes for the Lawson Item Master.
- Works closely with the Contract Sourcing Administrator process improvement opportunities in order to optimize the daily work process. Will attend routine Contract Team Meetings; discuss current issues, expiring contracts, new opportunities. Will support analytical needs for contracts or projects within the customer groups.
Credentials and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree – field of study: Business Finance, Accounting, Economics, Supply Chain or other related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of supply chain/procurement experience directly involved in purchasing administration support within a healthcare facility, medical durable goods management, educational facility or similar supplier/distribution business.
