The Sr. TM Relations Advisor will coordinate all aspects of employee relations functions for assigned departments and business units and engages as a trusted partner and subject matter expert with team members and leaders on work related issues including, but not limited to, performance management, workplace concerns, requests for family medical (FMLA) and Personal leave, requests for reasonable accommodation (ADA), labor law matters and involuntary termination. Duties include performing a consulting role for management regarding employee situations to include the implementation of coaching, progressive counseling/disciplinary actions, best practices in employee/supervisor relations, dissemination of information regarding policies, regulations, and processes regarding the managing of employees throughout the areas of responsibility assigned. Interpret and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

This position reports to the HR Manager, SWM, and partners with the HRBP in managing a comprehensive TM Relations program and mentors the TM Relations Specialist to support all team members and the successful running of the business.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and the use of Outlook and demonstrated competency using Outlook, electronic folders/drives, and HRIS systems for employee records, applicant tracking, performance management, etc.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ongoing engagement, consultation and mentorship with Moffitt team members at all levels and maintaining a pulse on culture, attrition, thematic employee grievances and setting a consistent standard for solutioning.
  • Assist all levels of team members regarding TM relations issues and help to build and maintain a positive, engaged and productive relationship between Moffitt's team members and leadership.
  • Providing support & guidance to the company's performance management system, structure & processes and

partnering with leaders on Performance Management, Performance Appraisals, and Improvement Plans.

  • Partner with key stakeholders to ensure the smooth and consistent administration of workforce related functions, processes and programs.
  • Conduct thorough reviews, analysis, assessments and investigations to look into, document, address and resolve workforce matters in order to ensure alignment with Moffitt standards, regulations and policies and compliance with all employment laws and outside regulatory bodies.

Credentials and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business, Psychology, or related field.

 

  • 5 years of progressively responsible and directly related experience, with 3+ years experience in a dedicated HR Specialist or HR Generalist type role with direct experience in employee relations including 1+ years experience conducting workplace investigations.

 

  • Proven working knowledge and broad-based experience with execution of and/or partnership with human resource disciplines including Org. Development, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, and performance management and federal and state employment laws.

 

  • Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information.

 

  • Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment, problem-solve, be creative and flexible.

 

  • PHR/SPHR, or SHRM-SCP/SHRM-CP (if not already held will be required to obtain within 1 year of being hired into role)

 

 

 

Preferred:

 

  • Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management

 

  • Employee Relations professional certification; and/or AWI (Association of Workplace Investigators) certification and/or SHRM Workplace Investigations Specialty Credential

 

  • Experience in an academic medical center or research setting is a plus, but not a requirement.
