Job Description

Postdoctoral Fellow | Bioengineering (Immune Monitoring and Engineering)

Jalili Lab

Farmington, CT

The Jalili lab will open in July 2023 and is seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral fellow to join our team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects related to studying the host immune-microbiome interface in the context of autoimmune skin diseases, infectious diseases, and aging, using state-of-the-art engineering tools. We implement different engineering technologies, particularly microneedle skin patches, to longitudinally monitor the cross-regulation of skin microbiome and immune system in the context of the inflammatory and autoimmune skin conditions. The postdoctoral scientist will lead an exciting project that applies a broad range of cutting-edge technologies, such as microfabrication, microneedle patches, single-cell transcriptomics, metagenomics and proteomics in both mouse models and human patients. This position will also explore and leverage collaboration with bioengineers, dermatologists, microbiologist and immunologist in the Jackson Laboratory, University of Connecticut, UConn Health, University of Massachusetts Medical School and beyond.
