Responsibilities*

Patient Care/Customer Service

Work with dental providers to provide comprehensive dental care to patients which include chairside assisting, including surgeries
Responsible for patient flow, keeping treatment rooms neat and organized.
Display excellent customer services and attitude to patients, students, faculty and staff.
Protect and safeguard patient information and confidentiality per HIPAA standards.
Assist with setup, breakdown, maintenance, clean-up, proper sterilization or other preparation of rooms and equipment & instruments daily.
Assist with patient management during treatment, minimizing patient discomfort and anxiety.
Render immediate assistance in emergency medical situations.
Responsible for preliminary health screenings prior to treatment, take vitals and prepare the patient for treatment.
Expose and set digital radiographs according to standard procedures or specific instructions, including CBCT.
Maintain clinical supplies as needed
Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Clinic Support

Actively work with team members, staff, student providers and faculty on training issues and appropriate procedures to be followed
Provide guidance to graduate providers during procedures by answering questions or with materials needed.
Work as a team player, either helping or receiving help from other assistants with the objective to expedite patient care.
Abide by current Infection Control standards and annual training requirements.
Process instruments for end of day.
Ability to multitask, take initiative and anticipate the needs of others
Maintain licensure, continuing education and professional development.
Front End Duties

Schedule patients for appointments if needed
Provide guidance to Pre-Doc students for scheduling processes
Required Qualifications*

Certificate of completion from an accredited dental assisting program.
2 years of dental assisting experience.
Current BLS for Healthcare Providers
Radiography certification
Knowledge of HIPPA, OSHA standards, and aseptic techniques
Reasonable knowledge of dental clinic practices and procedures
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team setting.
Demonstrates active listening, written, verbal and information technology skills
Desired Qualifications*

Associate's degree in Dental Assisting CDA certification or RDA licensure
Certificate of completion from an accredited dental assisting program.
Familiarity with Axium dental record systems.
Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
Work Locations

This position is for the School of Dentistry located at 1011 N University Ave.
