Position Summary

The Sr. Manager, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Intelligence and Insights is responsible for developing DEI strategies through actionable insights and data. This position is expected to bring market insights, strategic direction, and thought leadership for DEI outcomes.

The candidate must have a true understanding of analytical prowess and ability to understand and use different types of data and draw insights to inform opportunities for DEI application. The incumbent should have extensive knowledge of advanced market research methodologies and a strong understanding of analytical tools & techniques.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for diversity, equity and inclusion, solid experience multi-tasking and working on a variety of diversity initiatives, understanding of industry DEI best practices, excellent client partnership capability, executive communication skills, analytical skills, and demonstrated ability to collaborate cross functionally and drive strategy in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is analytical, strategic and creative, as well as outstanding at quality implementation and operational excellence. Influences engagement in Diversity and Inclusion projects and programs to help build an internal organization that embraces and demonstrates Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and represents City of Hope externally as a collaborative community partner. Regular contact with senior leadership and department heads.

The Manager translates learnings into recommendations that drive business growth and stronger DEI outcomes. This role covers quantitative and qualitative research that feed into the development of deep insights, metrics and reporting.

Requires expert-level knowledge of data analytics tools and processes, combined with an ability to pull the stories from the data. This person will set the frameworks and standards, but also help create fit-for-purpose reports that give teams and clients what they need most - actionable intelligence.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • DEI Scorecard
    • Define quarterly scorecard metrics, metrics definitions, and operationalize metric mechanics in collaboration with the HR Analytics team
    • Develop scorecard down to management levels to drive accountability and change at all leadership levels
    • Make recommendations for Exec/Leader based on data insights and actions to improve diverse representation
  • Translate dashboards and reporting to include deep dives into representation, promotions, turnover, hiring, training completion, supplier diversity, etc. at the department and people manager level.
  • Builds the narrative from the data and recommends actionable outcomes. Understand and analyze workforce data and trends. Provide insights and guidance to DEI, HR and department leaders.
  • Develop, support, analyze and manage data related to our various diversity programs. Perform qualitative and quantitative assessments of programs/initiatives. Evaluate trends and make recommendations.
  • Partner and collaborate with other departments (i.e. HR, Community Benefits, Philanthropy, Supplier Diversity, Health Equity Teams, etc.) to develop, support, and manage the coordination of data gathering and execution of various DEI surveys in order to ensure accurate representation of City of Hope data in benchmark surveys.
  • Engage in the identification of diversity and inclusion best practices and benchmarks as input to designing and implementing initiatives. Respond to surveys based on data to represent City of Hope’s DEI results.
  • Engage with leadership across the business to drive diversity related messages throughout the organization. Partnering with our Internal Communications team to influence and drive the diversity narrative and communications
  • Utilizes various tools (such as Excel), technology and best practices to develop new innovative learning programs that drive DEI awareness, understanding and action.
  • Energizes and engages cross-functional teams to achieve our vision, demonstrating a high-level of emotional intelligence, openness to change, and the willingness to merge ideas to bring forward the best solutions.
  • Keeps abreast of workforce trends affecting policies and or programs and ensuring operational compliance in the DEI space.
  • Strong project management, process improvement, modeling and data analysis skills; demonstrated experience in taking data, business requirements and ideas and crafting processes, process maps and operating procedures.
  • Builds relationships and work cross-functionally to drive the successful and on-time completion of assigned projects or tasks.
  • Work in collaboration with executive leaders, HR leadership, talent acquisition, and others to identify and minimize the impact of any potential systematic barriers and enablers of DEI.
  • Assists with development of innovative tracking programs such as self-ID and ERG membership tracking and incorporating diversity into all aspects of operation and reporting services for DEI campaigns.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in finance, analysis/statistics, organizational development, behavioral sciences, human resources, project management, business management or education.
  • Must have at least 7 years of related experience
  • Must have experience in a data analytics position, preferably in the field of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience in a leadership position.
  • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Proven success with employee communications and change management
  • Mastery of modern communications tools: social/digital media
  • Understanding and sensitivity to cultural differences
  • Track record of success navigating in a complex, matrix organization.
  • Deep passion for the DE&I space and working relationships with external agencies or community groups across the U.S.
  • Proven experience in DE-I models, metric reporting, strategies, and communications

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $58.44 - $93.50 / hour
