Summary

The Information and Technology Services (ITS) organization at the University of Michigan has an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager working with the Enterprise Application Services team, responsible for Human Capital Management (HCM) products. Our systems and solutions deliver to a wide-cross section of customers including faculty, staff, students, retirees and campus administrators. Human Capital Management products and services provide enterprise solutions for recruiting, core HR administration, payroll, time and labor, benefits and employee development training systems.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated candidate to be a vital contributor to the strategic direction of HCM products and services, with an emphasis in the payroll, time and labor and benefits area. You will report directly to the Assistant Director, HCM. This position is flexible and offers remote, hybrid or on-site work options.

Responsibilities*

Manage the business analyst team and other positions as assigned. Develop and oversee a team that demonstrates behaviors that are aligned with our values, ethics, practices and procedures.
Hire, train, and mentor staff and provide accurate and specific feedback using our performance management instruments.
Build and maintain campus client relationships.
Understand Human Capital Management customer priorities and needs across schools, colleges, central offices, and departments to establish a strategic roadmap for enhancements, product and service development, and product adoption.
Develop and manage relevant Human Capital Management vendor relationships. Ensure team knowledge of core and peripheral products, including update, upgrade and maintenance schedules and the impact on enterprise systems.
Use software development methodologies, project management methodologies, change management, and technical and internal support tools. Train and hold accountable the effective and accurate use of relevant methodologies and internal tools by team members.
Required Qualifications*

Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience.
8 years of experience in a related role.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a management, supervisory position with demonstrated ability to supervise team members.
Demonstrated experience in product management or application development.
Desired Qualifications*

Demonstrated knowledge of higher education Human Capital Management business processes, including payroll, time and labor, and benefits.
Demonstrated knowledge of University of Michigan ERP systems, such as Human Capital Management PeopleSoft and Kaba time clocks.
Experience managing a product road map.
Experience with product design principles.
Previous experience with Cloud-based solutions or Cloud ERP products.
