Job Description

The US Community Health Activation Lead is a newly formed commercial function within Pfizer that is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering the Community Health activation strategy across 18 select cities in the US. To support this new vertical, this individual will also be responsible for developing the organizational team structure that will support this new function. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit that exudes “if there’s a will, there’s a (compliant) way,” this role is for you…. You will have the opportunity build something with a clean slate that doesn’t currently exist and has a lot of uncertainty/ambiguity. Initially, a lot of investigative work will be necessary to figure out what needs to happen and a “no stone left unturned” approach to determine the unmet need. The role is focused on unlocking opportunities and breaking barriers beyond traditional HCP stakeholders such as community health workers, i.e., social workers, school nurses, ministry of health officials, etc. to improve the overall quality of care and experience for Black, African American, and Afro-Caribbean communities affected by hereditary rare disease (particularly hATTR and SCD). Establishing community health SOPs, identifying stakeholders, and defining stakeholder partnerships are foundational to success. This is a highly collaborative role that requires exceptional negotiation skills working very closely with legal, compliance, medical and regulatory. In addition, cross functional alignment with the community activation team, brand team, and sales teams, on the community health roadmap is paramount to success.

  • Has a strong desire to improve/address community health inequities, social and socioeconomic disparities in urban communities.

This role reports to the US Community Activation Lead

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities for the role include:

  • Responsible for designing, developing, and delivering the Community Health activation strategy including:
  • The overarching go-to-market strategy for a first of a kind Community initiative involving nontraditional stakeholders (community health workers, i.e social workers, mental health workers, health system board of directors, etc.).
  • Market landscape and research needs assessment.
  • identifying and validating relevant opportunities/trends for black and brown families affected by hereditary rare diseases.
  • where are we today? Determine short, midterm and long-term needs/gaps/immediate wins and what we still need to know. Prioritize focus areas for cross functional team alignment.
  • Lead the charge with establishing SOPs, guidelines for care and targeted messaging.
  • Establish objectives, defining community health activation needs, and securing relevant resources to drive the Community Health advocacy.
  • Identify Community Health Stakeholder development plan (define partnership, goals for the next 18-24 months).
  • Identify the themes of unmet needs across regions (east, central, west) to address gaps in hATTR and SCD disease management (wants vs. needs).
  • Seek, understand, and leverage enterprise asset that may impact community health education.
  • Foster strong partnerships to build alignment and shared vision amongst the broader Community Health communities.
  • Work closely with legal, regulatory, compliance, and medical to gain alignment on compliant interactions with newly defined stakeholder targets (who, what, why, how)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including:
  • At least 12 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry/marketing agency/community organizations
  • Demonstrated success in developing, executing, and measuring complex programs or initiatives.
  • Ability to execute in the face of ambiguity or multiple changes with a proven track record of operating in a fast-paced, high-energy environment strongly preferred.
  • Prior launch and/or marketing experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage community partners, agency partners and individuals to impact business performance strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience with Hereditary ATTR-CM and Sickle Cell preferred.
  • Strong team player with ability to gain alignment: Effective listening and communication skills – gathers input from key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure, to take accountability for business challenges, think strategically and tackle complex problems.
  • Strong business acumen with excellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide variety of internal and external audiences, including senior Pfizer leadership and senior management from external organizations.

Work Location Assignment: On Premise

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $156,900.00 to $261,500.00. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Salary range does not apply to the Tampa, FL location.
