Department Summary
The department has a mission to provide a high quality education to our diverse student population through excellence and innovation in teaching and research in order to serve the scientific and engineering needs of the state of Texas and the nation. This will be achieved by a balance of formal course work, practical laboratory training, and research projects that encompass both the basic science and the applied aspects of materials science and engineering. The department offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering programs.

UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.
Position Summary
Applicants should have a strong background and interest in the following areas: electrode materials for rechargeable batteries, in-situ characterization of Li-S battery cathode, electro-chemical properties of metal-air batteries, and simulation of battery performance and mechanism. The postdoc will have opportunities to carry out collaborative research projects aligned with their career goals as well as experimental efforts that generate high‐impact research.
Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in materials science and engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field.
Research experience and track record of publications in advanced rechargeable batteries (Li-S batteries, metal air batteries), simulation and electro-chemical characterization.
