The IT Knowledge Learning Designer will support efforts to expand internal IT documentation that is used by staff at all levels of the IT organization to provide IT support to HMS community members. The effort requires leadership in the discovery of learning topics, learning design, and creation of digital learning assets with a focus on user experience and accessibility. In collaboration with the IT Service Management Office and IT subject matter experts, the IT Knowledge Learning Designer will design, create, and publish internal IT documentation and asynchronous digital training materials. This work includes partnering with the IT Service Management Office in the development of learning outcomes, identification of metrics for success, and development of design plans that ensure high quality learning experiences that meet objectives and expectations. We are looking for someone who takes a human-centered design approach to solution-finding, enjoys the opportunity to dig deep into technical subject areas, and cares deeply about the learner experience.

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years’ post-secondary education or relevant work experience
Working Conditions
  • Work is performed in an office setting
  • Occasionally required to work outside of normal business hours, and may be called during off hours
Additional Qualifications and Skills
  •  
  • Master’s degree in relevant field
  • Experience with instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and designing and delivering learning solutions
Additional Information
This is a 12-month term appointment with the possibility of renewal contingent on funding.

This position is based in Boston and some in-person on-campus work will be required, and flexible/remote work is an option. Any remote work must be performed in a state in which Harvard is registered to do business (CA*, CT, GA, IL, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, RI, VA, VT, and WA). Individual flexible and remote work options for this role will be discussed during the interview process. *Note: Harvard employees working in California must be exempt.
