The University of Texas at Arlington’s Budgets, Planning & Analysis Office mission is to effectively lead the development and management of the University Budget, deliver accurate financial planning information to University administration and University department heads, provide professional support to the University community, and provide accurate reporting documents to University of Texas System Office, Board of Regents, Legislative Budget Board, and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

The Data Analyst performs complex work in designing and building critical financial models and reports for the University’s resource management processes and uses specialized tools designed for financial planning applications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Create, evaluate and revise financial models and reports for accuracy and performance.
Interact with Business Analysts and Customers to identify Reporting Requirements.
Work with other reporting teams within the university to gather, maintain, and develop data standards.
Design and Implement Customer facing reporting & dashboards.
Work with Office of Information Technology to design and implement reporting data models to support Business Affairs.
Performs other duties assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field and 4 years of experience working with multiple data sets and financial planning or equivalent experience.
Experience gathering and documenting reporting requirements from stakeholders at both executive and operational levels.
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel for financial modeling, including vlookup, macros, pivot grids, etc.
Demonstrated working knowledge in designing reporting data sets, related meta-data, and reports.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Experience working in higher education finance.
Working knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM).
Demonstrated knowledge reporting from PeopleSoft and SAS Applications.
Demonstrated ability to lead projects with limited supervision.
Working Conditions
Hybrid/Remote position – work may be conducted both remotely and in-person. Required attendance at in-person UTA meetings in Arlington, TX.
General office conditions. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Occasional nights and weekends are possible. Travel for professional development/conferences as needed or required.
