Job Description
The Web Services Specialist administers and implements digital content on AEA websites and other digital platforms, including creating and building out websites. This position will assist with major campaign initiatives as well as lead smaller digital projects that support campaign goals. She/ He must be a team player, possess outstanding communication skills, be able to execute on multiple projects at once/multitask and be able to build healthy cross-functional relationships.

This individual will be adept at AP style, manage all forms of content, including strategic web content that achieves desired outcomes. This will consist of reading, analyzing and editing provided copy following AP Style and SU guidelines for improved user consumption. Using a variety of content management systems, the specialist will lay out the content ensuring optimal user experience and complying with WCAG (2.1 AA) standards as well as improving website performance, maintaining digital assets and ensuring brand compliance.

Must be able to create, edit and optimize image assets. Possess strong technical skills and utilize those skills with web accessibility and usability in mind.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, web development or similar field.
Candidates must have a demonstrable proficiency in HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, JavaScript and PHP. Some experience with server-side coding, XML and database connectivity is required. They should be proficient using Mac or PC for web development. Some server administration experience and knowledge is preferred.
Understanding of and proficiency in a CMS environment is required. Anthology Encompass and Cascade CMS preferred.
Understanding and experience working with API (REST/SOAP/JSON) to analyze and transfer data from one platform to another is preferred.
Familiarity with campus products currently being used such as FREVVO, JIRA, Confluence etc. is preferred.
Experience working in environments that require adherence to stringent regulations/procedures. Experience working in higher education preferred.
Experience working with version control systems (Git/GitHub).
Experience with web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA).
Strong, clear editing and proofreading skills for the web are essential.
Preferred experience with digital usability, AP Style and Google Analytics.
Proficient in developing instructions and documentation.
Job Specific Qualifications

Ability to communicate corrections, determine desired intent and provide guidance to campus partners is crucial.
Ability to provide timely responses to campus partners is critical, even after hours.
Able to work collaboratively, but also work and troubleshoot independently.
Ability to evaluate, set priorities and execute on the fly.
Be a self-starter and a creative and strategic thinker.
Minimum two years working with Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop.
High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills is necessary.
Ability to quickly maneuver in a fast-paced environment is essential.
Ability to handle knowledge that has not been widely distributed carefully and keep it confidential.
Ability to multitask, including coordinating multiple projects in addition to other daily duties is necessary.
Responsibilities
Create, build and implement microsites for large fundraising/campaign initiatives as well as large events including but not limited to Boost the ’Cuse, Make Your Mark, Coming Back Together and Orange Central. This includes, but is not limited to, reading, analyzing and editing provided copy following AP Style and SU guidelines for improved user consumption. Using a variety of content management systems, layout all content ensuring optimal user experience and complying with WCAG (2.1 AA) standards, as well as improving website performance, maintaining digital assets and ensuring brand compliance.

Lead smaller scale digital projects including but not limited to school/college/unit CuseFunders and custom giving page initiatives, which will require partnering and collaborating with stakeholders across the institution. Oversee and execute multiple projects simultaneously. Make recommendations on layout and content received for an engaging online presence, while also ensuring WCAG (2.1 AA) and brand compliance. Work effectively under tight deadlines and changing priorities.

Serve as a web server administrator, including managing and resolving server and front-end dependency conflicts. Make updates to Apache web server configuration including adding and updating redirect links. Identify, modify and integrate open-source libraries.

Navigate and analyze vendor APIs and web services. Develop and implement back-end support of third-party platforms that enhance or support the donation process or fundraising including, but not limited to Anthology Encompass, Match360, and Blackbaud CRM.

Assist with changes to secure giving forms, including updates to imagery, descriptions, confirmation emails and funds.
