JOB DESCRIPTION:
Summary:

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science seeks qualified individuals to fill multiple open faculty positions. Appointments may be made at the rank of Instructor (Non-Tenure, MS level) or Assistant/Associate Professor (Tenure/Non-tenure, Ph.D. level).

The potential candidates must have expertise in at least one of the following areas: (i) computer engineering with embedded systems and FPGAs; (ii) VLSI design and tape-out; (iii) wired and wireless network infrastructure; (iv) energy and power systems, including nuclear generation; (v) artificial intelligence; or (vi) RF and electronics. Special considerations will be given to candidates whose research areas are embedded system design and/or VLSI circuit design and layout.

These positions are nine-month appointments. The rank and tenure status of each position is negotiable based on qualifications. The anticipated start date is Fall 2023. The salary for each position is based on the grade/tier, the number of years of related experience, or the number of years in hiring rank. The closing date is open until the positions are filled.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Instructors (Non-Tenure, MS level) are expected to; teach undergraduate courses, provide support to student organizations and projects; and contribute to applied research activities within the program.
Assistant/Associate Professors (Tenure/Non-tenure, Ph.D. level) are expected to; teach both undergraduate and graduate courses; advance scholarly research; develop and conduct a basic or applied externally funded research program in their area of expertise.
Faculty at all levels are expected to contribute and provide service and outreach activities for the program, department, university.





REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.):

BS in an ABET accredited EE program (or equivalent), MS plus relevant industry experience (for Instructors) or Ph.D. (for Asst./Assoc. Professors) degree(s) in electrical engineering (or closely related field).
Must have experience in electronics or computer engineering design.
Must have the ability to teach a broad spectrum of electrical engineering courses.
Must have the ability to establish a vigorous externally funded research program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent funding proposal writing skills
Excellent teaching record

The salary for each position is based on the grade/tier in which the position is placed, and the salary within the grade/tier is based on the number of years of related experience or number of years in the hiring rank.
