Ball State University’s Unified Communications team is looking for a dynamic, goal-oriented member to provide data and voice connectivity to the University’s campus. This position will involve monitoring, maintaining and evolving the campus data and voice network to meet the ever-growing needs of the campus community. Length of Assignment Full-Time At-Will
Position Function
Provide integration and unification of communication technologies; provide
ongoing monitoring, analysis, and support of the unified communication and network architecture; provide daily oversight of the campus communication system and related functions.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; OR Associate’s Degree plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to 2 years.; OR High School diploma plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to 4 years.
Minimum Experience
Three years of technical experience in Networking and Collaboration technology; ability to write proposals, act as a vendor liaison, make presentations to professional peers, and work closely with IT management.
Minimum Other
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Authorization to work in the US Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; OR Associate’s Degree plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to 2 years.; OR High School diploma plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to 4 years.
Preferred Experience
More than five years of experience in data networking, VoIP, or video-conferencing; experience within computer facilities in a large organization or university setting. Positive consideration will be given to relevant certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CWNA) and/or specialized training.
